Biography
Derek is the CIO and co-founder of Integrative Capital, LLC. His passion for studying market behavior began while competing in the USA Today's Collegiate Investment Challenge in 1991. After graduating cum laude from the University of Arizona in 1992 with a BS in Finance, he began his career with Olde Discount Stockbrokers. He became branch manager at locations in Buffalo and Cleveland by age 22, eventually managing a team of 6 members in the South Florida regional office. His interest in trading led him to join Online Trading, Inc. in its infancy in 1996, where he managed the proprietary trading desk and served as Chief Operating Officer. He served on the Board of Directors from the time the company went public in 1999 until it merged with Omega Research in 2001. At that time, he decided to move from an executive role to that of a full-time client, and launched a private investment partnership for family and friends. Prior to the launch of Integrative Capital in 2009, he served as Managing Director of Odyssey Holdings, LP, holding the bulk of his assets in the partnership. He resides in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, NC with his wife and young son and daughter.
