...then expect consumer foods and livestock companies to keep pulling back a bit, as stocks like Tyson (NYSE: TSN [1]), Pilgrim's Pride (NYSE: PPC [2]), Kellogg (NYSE: K [3]), etc have done in recent days. Actually, they've held up pretty well this week considering the rally we've seen in agricultural commodities prices and I think these types of names may now be the best way to play the theme of food inflation from here, but they should have a hard time making headway if ag stocks continue to bounce [4] in the near-term. As I've touched on a few times recently [5], however, this group is attractive for a number of reasons so keep an eye on this pullback for a chance to buy consumer foods and livestock companies.

Shipping Index at ETFtrends

Seeing the post of our friend, Tom Lydon, in the GF featured section as I write this, I realize I'm remiss in linking to a story he did on the Delta Global Shipping Index [6]. In my last post, I linked to a brief report CNBC did on the index, but I failed to link to Tom's earlier article on it until now. My bad. Going for Gold

They did it! USA Men's volleyball upset Russia on Friday to advance to the gold medal game for the first time since 1988! This Russian team was the one that ours had not been able to solve over the last couple of years, but Team USA picked a beautiful time to get over the hump. Knowing coach Hugh McCutcheon, whose father-in-law was fatally stabbed at the beginning of these games on a sight-seeing trip in Beijing, I could not be happier for him and his team. Check out this interview with Hugh [8] for a small glimpse of one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. The accent, you'll hear by the way, is from New Zealand... Hugh's a Kiwi.
