After Hours: Weekend Must-Reads

By Chip Hanlon | June 16, 2008 | 4:31 AM | 0 Comments

Highlighting just a few of what I considered to be the most interesting articles of the weekend, in case you missed them:

Mexican Standoff: A New Threat to Oil (Barron's, $)-- Indeed, a story worth tracking. The projected decline in production which should start in earnest within 5 years, and the accompanying loss of tax revenues, poses a threat to Mexico's very stability.

Approve this Deal, or Else (NY Times)-- Washington Mutual's (NYSE: WM) Shoddy Capital Infusion

Miner's son controls fate of proposed mining law (Bloomberg)-- perhaps the one tax Harry Reid doesn't love

Stroke of Genius (ESPN.com) -- Tiger being Tiger. Our friends at CNBC, Bloomberg Television will take a back seat for one day at DGA as 18-hole playoff will decide U.S. Open, starting at noon, EDT.
