Biography

Kurt Kasun has been an active investor in equity markets since 1995. His investment approach has always been macro in nature largely due to his undergraduate studies at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point (B. S. National Security, Public Affairs, 1989) and his graduate studies at George Mason University (M.A. International Commerce and Policy, 2006). Kurt employs a top-down, global macro-economic approach to investing, and has successfully demonstrated the success of his model in world markets. He insightfully transitioned out of domestically-oriented financial assets (US stocks), and in the middle of 2002 moved heavily into emerging market and commodity related investments prior to their recent mainstream popularity.

Kurt was the author of the subscription-based investment newsletter Global Megatrends where he shared is global macroeconomic analytics and portfolio recommendations with subscribers.  He has been actively consulting company executives on global macro trends and assisting others with their portfolios for several years.

Kurt is also a major contributor to a book being authored by John Mumford titled Broke:  What Every American Business Must Do to Restore Our Financial Stability.  The book, to be published by John Wiley & Sons, is set to be released in late 2009.

Kurt is currently a licensed financial advisor and lives in Fairfax, VA.
