Biography
Kevin Cook was an institutional foreign exchange trader for 9 years before joining The Options News Network to create dynamic options education for self-directed investors and traders. In the daily interbank scrum, he was a high-frequency market maker dealing $100+ million a day in spot/futures arbitrage in all time zones. In that post, he gained key skills in risk management and technical analysis, as well as “amateur-economist” knowledge of global-macro capital flows.
Kevin learned about options trading on the floors of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and soon after began his passionate interest in building a library of instructional content and tools to make options education highly relevant, extremely useful, and endlessly fascinating. His focus on understanding and managing probability and risk also led him to develop proprietary training methods for teaching discretionary traders how to replicate the options pro’s systematic approach to mathematical “edge.” His latest article on behavioral finance appeared in the July issue of SFO magazine and can be accessed here.
As the primary instructor for OptionsPhysics Basic Level, Kevin’s goal is to give beginning options traders the knowledge and tools they need to start on their own path towards options trading skills and success. To keep things interesting, he likes to throw in a lot of discussion about the uses and roots of probability theory.
And as the host of ONN.tv’s StreetSmarts interview program, Kevin has recently sat down with the Chairman of CME, Terry Duffy, and the CEO of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, Bill Brodsky. One of his favorite chats was with options legend Blair Hull, where they discussed the Market Wizard’s old blackjack, card-counting exploits.
