By Chip Hanlon | August 25, 2008 | 9:35 AM | 3 Comments

What I mean is: the exchange-traded fund based on our Delta Global Shipping Index began trading today.  Its (NYSE: SEA).

Pretty exciting, fun day for us here.

In fact, I'm not here...as this posts to the site, I'll be boarding a plane for New York... a few of us from Delta Global and some of our friends from Claymore, which offers this ETF, will be ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday morning.

To find out more about this ETF, visit the following page at Claymore's site: www.claymore.com/sea

Catch you later in the week...

LIke Baltic Dry Index

http://globalcapital.blogspot.com

I have been asking in every forum available, "Where is the ETF for the Baltic Dry Index?" It looks like this is the best one so far! It would be interesting to see, six months from how, what the correlation coefficient is between the Index and this ETF.

Steve

The Baltic Dry Shipping Index (BDI) is the key gauge of shipping rates for the world's busiest 24 key shipping routes.  There isn't a BDI ETF. It simply doesn't exist.

The ETF that is referred to here (SEA), is comprised of 30 maritime shipping companies and is not affiliated with the BDI.
