The Auto Industry Solution is so Simple

By Chip Hanlon | December 03, 2008 | 7:55 PM | 2 Comments

...it's all ball bearings these days. Oh, wait--I'm citing the wrong Chevy Chase movie there (Fletch).

After another day of begging and pleading by the automakers in front of Congress, it struck me: I have the perfect idea as to how to save the auto industry, and it's so simple!

The Wagon Queen Family Truckster. If the car makers would just promise to get back to building beauties like these, I'd say give 'em what they want!

"I distinctly ordered the antarctic blue super sports wagon, with the CB and the optional rally fun pack"

Aw, heck...let's kick it up a notch and feature the Truckster in one of its many classic scenes:

...they don't make 'em like they used to.

Wow

You didn't just post that! The Wagon Queen Family Truckster? That is not the car we ordered. I distinctively ordered the Antarctic Blue Super Sports Wagon with the CB and optional rally fun pack.
