i'm sure you have heard of quantative easing, where the Fed just prints money and adds it to bank reserves regardless of their rate target--which can yet be lowered to zero.If that doesn't work they can buy treasury debt directly and circumvent the banking system entirely.

i believe Gentle Ben will do whatever it takes to prevent deflation from occurring. Do you think politicians or the Fed have shown any indication to allow the free market to work out this credit crisis?
