A destruction of asset

A destruction of asset values cannot cause deflation in of itself, but it can lead to deflation because there won't be an inflated asset to extract equity and borrow from. Deflation is still possible but only if banks stop lending money to the government and if government stops borrowing. I don't think that is the most likely scenario.
